Who Are Young Professionals?

Young professionals are at the early stages of their careers as Management Assistants, regardless of age.

Meet Nicole, Young Professionals Ambassador IMA Global

"Hello, I’m Nicole Breunissen, and I work as an Administrative Assistant at Hilton, where I support the Senior Vice President. I have six years of experience in this fast-paced international corporate environment.

This has shaped my understanding of the opportunities and challenges that management assistants and young professionals navigate every day.

As Global Young Professional Ambassador at IMA, I’m passionate about building stronger connections within our community and creating space for young professionals to develop, contribute, and feel supported in their careers."

Meet Amber, Young Professional IMA Belgium

"My name is Amber Vanlerberghe and I am a member of IMA Belgium. I have been working in the management support profession for over five years. Currently, I work as a Management Assistant at SuReal.

I joined IMA Belgium in 2023 and immediately found a network of like-minded professionals. Being surrounded by colleagues with years of experience has taught me a great deal. Sharing the same challenges and hearing different perspectives has been incredibly valuable.

IMA events have also broadened my knowledge on topics such as AI, productivity, and communication. That has been helping me develop my skills and stay current with industry trends.

I was awarded the Sonia Vanular Fund, which allowed me to attend the international conference in Stockholm in October 2024. I am now a proud member of the IMA Belgium board."

Meet Andrea, Young Professional IMA Norway

"I am Andrea, I have been working as Management Support at Equinor for the past two years, where I have gained invaluable experience and enhanced my skills. With a background in communication, HR, and personnel management, and prior experience in the travel industry, I’m now pursuing a master's in business focusing on the energy sector.

I am passionate about artificial intelligence and its transformative potential across industries. As a young female professional with a diverse background, I advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, believing that this enriches organizations and drives innovation.

I am glad to be an IMA member for its professional and personal benefits. I look forward to learning about the latest trends in my field, building my competence, and expanding my network. IMA offers a valuable opportunity to grow both professionally and personally."

Meet Anette, Young Professional IMA Norway

"Hi, I am Anette, and I have been working as an Executive Assistant since 2018. I am passionate about creating structure, supporting leadership, and helping organizations run efficiently.

Alongside my professional role, I have served on the board of IMA Norway as Web Coordinator, where I have been able to combine my interest in communication and digital platforms with supporting the IMA community.

What I value most about IMA is the opportunity to connect with colleagues from different industries, share experiences, learn from one another, and continue developing both professionally and personally."

Meet Carolina, Young Professional IMA Finland

"Hi, I am Carolina and have been working as an assistant at KPMG Finland since October 2022.

With a strong educational background in pedagogy and philology, I am a teacher by trade. My pursuit of a human-centric, problem-solving role led me to find an ideal position within the assistant profession.

I am passionate about integrating and emphasizing the human factor in strategic planning and execution.

This furthermore drives my excitement to join the IMA network and contribute to shaping the future of our profession through the ownership agenda."

Meet Christine, Young Professional IMA Norway

"I have held a variety of roles throughout my career within strategy, communication, project management, and executive support, but I have always found my way back to the Executive Assistant role — simply because it is what I enjoy the most and where I feel I create the most value.

Today, I work as an EA consultant, taking on both short- and long-term assignments supporting CEOs and leadership teams across different organizations and industries. I enjoy working closely with leadership, creating structure in fast-paced environments, and contributing to strategy execution across the business.

Being part of IMA has given me valuable insights, inspiration, and a strong professional network. I especially value the opportunity to connect with experienced EAs and learn from others who have worked in the role for many years."

Meet Claire, Young Professional IMA Netherlands

"I am Claire van Bers and I have been working as an assistant for over 7 years. In addition, I run my own business as a wedding planner, where I can use my organizational skills and creativity in a different way. Combining both roles gives me a unique perspective on planning and coordinating various events and projects.

For me, the IMA is a wonderful way to network with other professionals in our field and to brainstorm with peers. It provides a platform where we can share experiences, learn from one another, and collaborate on shaping the future of our profession. I am convinced that, as the younger generation, we bring many new and valuable ideas and skills that elevate the role of assistant to a higher level.

That’s why I am very enthusiastic about the fact that the IMA offers space for this fresh perspective, and that we, as young professionals, can actively contribute to the further development of our field."

Meet Emelie, Young Professional IMA Sweden

"Hi, I’m Emelie and I work as an Executive Assistant within the real estate and investment industry in Stockholm. I support the founders of a growing investment company, where I work closely with everything from coordination and communication to projects, events, and daily operations.

I’m passionate about building structure, creating strong relationships, and contributing beyond the traditional assistant role. I enjoy fast-paced environments where professionalism and people skills go hand in hand, and I’m always curious to learn from others and continue developing both personally and professionally."

Meet Fayroza, Young Professional IMA South-Africa

"Executive Assistant, Sanlam Collective Investment

I am a driven young professional who has built a diverse career across various industries, continuously striving to learn and grow.

My dedication to excellence has led to my nomination as a top 5 finalist in the Sanlam Group's PA of the Year 2024. Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a degree in Financial Accounting, with the goal of advancing my career and realizing my future aspirations in the field."

Meet Gretchen, IMA South Africa Young Professional Ambassador

"Hi, I am Gretchen and I have been working as an administrator in the Plant Pathology Department at Stellenbosch University for 3 years, with a total of 12 years’ experience at the university. My educational background includes qualifications as an Accounting Technician and Business Administration, which have equipped me with strong financial and organizational skills that I apply in my daily work.

I’m excited about the evolving landscape of the assistant profession and the opportunities for growth that come with it. As a member and young professional ambassador of IMA, I have the chance to network with professionals from diverse backgrounds, continuously enhancing my skills and learning from others. I strongly believe that by supporting each other, sharing experiences, and collaborating, we can foster a community of growth and innovation. Together, we can adapt to the changing demands of the industry and help shape a more dynamic and forward-thinking profession."

Meet Julia, Young Professional IMA Luxembourg

"My name is Julia Svensson. I’m originally from Stockholm and work as an Executive Assistant in the financial sector in Luxembourg. I’m most passionate about organisational efficiency and project management, and I am actively expanding my expertise by currently pursuing a degree in Project Management.

I’m also especially excited about the intersection between technology and the assistant profession; how smart tools can streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and free up time so that the human touch can shine where it matters most.

I’m very happy to be part of IMA and its community of fantastic management assistants. Being surrounded by professionals who constantly push our field forward inspires me to keep learning, stay curious, and contribute to shaping the future of our profession."
